Goal: This 3-day workshop intends to bring analysts and observers together to discuss how best to observe the upcoming reentry of the ATV-1 "Jules Verne" over the South Pacific in early August, 2008. In addition, practical experiences from the previous Aurigid MAC and Quadrantid Multi-Instrument Aircraft Campaign will be discussed, as well as results from the Stardust Sample Return Capsule reentry.

The workshop agenda.

Lodging: The Ramada Inn ($60.- + tax) can be reached at 1-650-967-6856. For low rates you will need to contact the hotel directly. Alternative lodging is in the next door Quality Inn and Suites of Mountain View ($109.- + tax). Please make your own travel arrangements. We will provide for transport to conference center at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday and 8:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, leaving from Ramada Inn. This will enable us to escort foreign national participants.


The meeting will be held in the Moffett Field Conference Center (Building 3) at NASA Ames Research Center. To enter NASA Ames, you will need a badge. Information for that is collected through the registration form:

If possible, collect your badge at the Ames badging office (at main entrance to Ames) before the meeting. Bring two forms of picture I.D..

Directions to NASA Ames and nearby Ramada Inn:
From San Jose Airport or San Francisco Airport by car: Highway 101, in direction of Mountain View. Take exit Moffett Field. Follow direction of traffic, continue on Moffett Boulevard until gate. Explain to guard that you will be picking up a badge at the badging office. Park car in nearby parking lot, proceed to collect badge. Ask for directions there.
